15 years and still acing – Yahsir Waheed Spring/Summer 2012

Yahsir Waheed, the guy behind the ‘lawn’ we know today, exhibited his Spring/Summer 2012 lawn collection at Islamabad Hotel from 23rd-26th March 2012. And what a brilliant one we must say; the moment you enter the hall you  will have half of your summer wardrobe all planned in there. A whooping 12 designs in 3 colors each were put on display, neatly pinned-up on stands, with mannequins on either side. Here are your 5 reasons to buy Yahsir Waheed this season:-

  1. With some designs you could also opt for 2 piece instead of 3 piece suit.
  2. With or without the embroidery – your choice and your pocket size (that is probably a major reason why the masses wait eagerly for his exhibition at the start of the season).
  3. Economical. Period.
  4. The color, the cloth – it just doesn’t wear out anytime sooner than 3 years. #True Story.
  5. 40 designs – lesser chance of seeing it on 20 other women :P
However  in case you are a chiffon dopatta fan, you will have to shop elsewhere. Their designs will be available at their flagship store in Lahore after 26th March. In case you cant make it to the exhibition by tomorrow, here s a sneak peak of the entire collection .
P.S. ( Editor’s Pick : ‘Carnation’ & ‘Block Paisley’)

Sania Maskatiya-ing

Humaima Malik seems to have a favorite this season. The actress who walked the ramp for Sania Maskatiya’s Dilkash Collection at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week earlier this year was spotted wearing a maroon jumpsuit by the designer for the screening of BOL at London Asian Film Festival. Honestly we are not quite a fan of the jumpsuit itself  and the mismatched shawl just added to the woes of the lovely actress. A blazer on top would have done the job better.

In Character?

Spotted at the DVF Bash was our Jugni girl who has been creating quite a stir in the fashion circles recently. Donning a black LBD belted dress, nude pumps and a Lady Dior bag, Kangna pulled off the look perfectly on the red carpet.. However, does this picture scream déjà vu for you? Yes the look was stolen (not inspired…that’s a different thing altogether) from Audrey Hepburn’s iconic look as Holly Golightly in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’. Wish she had changed the updo or the pearl necklace to make it look less costume-y.

Like a Boss

Quite contrary to Frieha’s usual style mantra, Frieha changed it up this time at the Press Conference of upcoming Fashion Pakistan Week. The off-white ‘Ego’ Kurta with Ghalib’s poetry printed all over made quite a fashion statement at the event. However we do think  a funky bag would have added color to the look. Agreed ?

A Neon February

There couldn’t have been a better pick than this as the first post of our blog =). At a recent talk show hosted by L’oreal Pakistan in honor of Women’s Day, model-turned-singer Meesha Shafi looked absolutely gorgeous in a dress top by Muse from their recent collection ‘A Neon February’. Whereas we love Aamina & Mehreen for their obvious face value and playing rather safe in the black and beige jumpsuits , we couldn’t keep our eyes off Meesha. Brownie points for the choice of footwear *Love*
