Azza : PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week Day 1
New York based designer Azeeza Desai Khan presented her collection titled “Holiday & Trousseau Capsule” on Day 1 of the recently concluded PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week. The silhouette was mostly flowy with varying degrees of flare. A safe choice of color pallete , mostly jewel tones, that almost always works in bridal/evening wear. Whereby Azza’s collection stuck true to the title (very holiday-ish, very runaway-bride), it fell prey to monotony by way of the choice of fabrics & embellishment ; we’ve seldom seen Azza step out of it’s comfort zone with chiffons & the signature gold-jewel embellishment. That said, some of the separates like the jewelled gold cape , the showstopper creme peplum jacket & the short hem dresses (in black & white) were a happy marriage between western silhouettes & eastern embellishments ; something Azza aims at.
