Misha Lakhani : PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week – Day 1

Misha Lakhani’s debut Bridal Collection“A colonial transgression” was a clear winner at  Day 1 of PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week – infact it was amongst the Fashion Week favorites. The mood was perfect for Spring/Summer 2013 with varying shades of whites, oranges, yellows , reds & greens. Misha’s collection stood out with it’s intelligent use of fabrics, cuts, layering techniques & embellishments ; each outfit was unique in it’s own special way. There were no floor sweeping lehengas – infact the chooridar with a shorter frilled lehenga (1st from left in picture 3) is a great new addition to Pakistani bridals. Misha was probably the only designer at PLBW to have a unique embellishment pattern running throughout her collection (see the last picture in the slideshow). The  delicate sequinned saris with floral applique’ as accents were our absolute favorites. Brownie points for the styling (by N-Pro by Nabila) & the gold ballerina flats instead of sky-high pumps.

We have said it before but we’ll say it again. From what we’ve seen so far, Misha is here to stay for a long long time.
