On Trend ! Sanam Chaudhri at the lawn previews

Karachi-based designer Sanam Chaudhri lent her support to both Khadijah Shah & Sania Maskatiya at their respective lawn previews last month. At both the events, she went for the trends-of-the-moment ; stripes & color-blocking , swapping the order of the separates the second time.

Don’t have full-lengths from the Sapphire lawn preview but between the two looks, it was the Elan one that got our fashion nods. Nicely put together look with so many trends in one. A pair of black slipper’s though would have been a much better substitute to those stompy Aldo wedges ( Buy here ). Which one do you like more?

On a side note, this might be the mood board for Sanam’s upcoming fashion week runway ( iff at all she shows). Remember this look of her’s too sometime back ? Very well, lots of stripes with neon accents it is then! ;)

Top Fashion Trends 2013 : Neon Accents

Neons & February (s) give us such a high sense of Déjà vu ! Well apparently neon will continue to hold on for yet another spring season. Neon accents were just about everywhere on the runway at the recently concluded New York Fashion Week ; Tanya Taylor, Victoria Beckham and Rag & Bone to name a few . At the local front, we spotted the trend on Sanam Chaudhri & Andleeb Rana (Editor XPoz’e magazine). Sanam paired her sassy Kirkwoods with hot pink pants & a cowl neck top. She looked super charming & cheerful !

Andleeb on the other hand went for a more relaxed look in neon yellow pants with white tunic & pink fluoro Cambridge Satchel.

Both the ladies looked quite similar. No? If only Andleeb didn’t have the bag displayed on her tummy, we would’ve given it to both – this time it’s Sanam for us !

Fashion Trends 2013 : The Balenciaga Cutout Boot

Its been quite sometime that we talked about the Hottest new Trends on our pages, but this one had us make a strong comeback. From Gisele Bundchan walking down the post-Nicholas Ghesquiere Balenciaga runway to VOGUE Japan spreads to the streets of Milan & England, the BALENCIAGA cutout boots have taken the fashion world by storm. High Street brands like TopShop & ASOS have also churned out multiple versions with TopShop’s ARISTOTLE CHUNKY TASSLE BOOTS being our second favorite ( Read : Rich dad poor dad :( )

You may pair them with a pleated skirt and ankle high socks for the ultimate Geek Chic look. If you’re too shy to go short on the hem, take a cue from Soraya Bakhtiar who wore her’s with army print pants, fur & Chanel Boy bag. *love*

Furred Up !

Fur-get the biker jackets & the wool trenches. Cosy-up with the season’s staple accessory – the faux fur jacket . As seen on Khadijah Shah, Shehla Chatoor, Areeba Magsi & Rabia Khan at their respective soirées, the faux fur vest/lapel cardigan are this year’s winter must-have items, especially if you are an old-school glamour person like us. It is the perfect piece to incorporate into your wardrobes sans frigid temperatures. Plus it’s extreme versatility makes it virtually effortless to style.

Though all the ladies wore theirs well , there’s no denying, Khadijah Shah stands out from the rest of the pack. Always does ! Who’s your favorite?

2013 Fashion Trends: The Leopard Print Smoking Slipper

Slippers are the new ballet flat of the season, and one of the our favorite 2012-2013 fashion trends. They are incredibly comfy, easily to slip on – slip off, go equally well with casual & evening wear and a perfect answer to mannish trends with a feminine edge.

The leopard print smoking slipper, in particular, is a great statement shoe this winter . From Jimmy Choo, to Charlotte Olympia to Charles Philip to ALDO, almost ALL shoe brands have come out with their version of the leopard print slipper this season. We are particularly in love with the Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats & the studded ones by River Island.

Wear them with tailored or cropped trousers over a neutral oversized coat/cardigan and you re ready to rock the trend. But remember the GOLDEN RULE of wearing leopard print : DO NOT, IN ANY WAY, MATCH MUCH ! The slipper is enough leopard-ey to be matched with any other leopard print in the look.

Not sure if it was Anna dello Russo’s fault for designing an opulent collection in collaboration with H&M, but we know for sure that her crocodile embellished sunglasses are one of the hits of the season. With influences from Prada, Dolce & Gabbana ,DSquared & Roberto Cavalli , embellished sunglasses have taken over the Spring Summer 2013 runways & as well as the streets. You can DIY your own by adding different adornments: raisin flowers, pearls, studs and so on.
