Of magazine covers

While Rabia Butt & Sarwat Gillani grace the covers of XPoz’e monthly & G.L.A.M. magazine respectively, HELLO! Pakistan has gone the unconventional route this time round by featuring some of the hottest Pakistani sportsmen on its January cover. We’re sad for not getting to see one of those statuesque ladies on HELLO! this time (See earlier ones here & here ). Besides we feel it did little justice to these heartthrobs and the HELLO! Awards that were all the rage on social media this past week.

On a comparative scale, we’re more inclined towards XPoz’e s cover , however there were other shots from this Ali Xeeshan photoshoot that would have made better picks. (like the last picture below). With this one the model seems too diffused into the background.

Ali Xeeshan’s Bridal Photoshoot Campaign for Libas December 2012

What seems like a massive photoshoot campaign featuring top make-up artists & models working his bridal creations, Ali Xeeshan has come up with a never been done before concept for Libas December’2012 issue. Each make-up artist was assigned one Ali Xeeshan bridal dress & one model who executed the shoot according to their style. So an entire series of shoots have been churned out, each with a different concept & styling that highlights the signature Ali Xeeshan bride.

Here’s your first look at the amazingly shot & brilliantly conceptualized campaign for Libas. It’s hard to pick a favorite but Maram & Aabroo’s featuring Neha and Guddu & Shani’s feat. Rabia Butt are absolutely stunning.

Styled by Amar Faiz and shot by Nadir Firoze Khan Photography & Maha Burney, the shoot features pieces, mostly separates, from Feeha Jamshed’s retail collection & has been published in this week’s SundayTimes magazine. We were thrilled to spot the gorgeous Misha Lakhani inside the November issue of HELLO! India magazine. She looks breathtaking. Misha is wearing the fuschia paper bag high waist trouser & embellished gold jacket that was showcased at her Label’s launch & later at the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week. Loved the addition of the statement necklace.

MARYA Fall/Winter 2012

Brainchild of lahore based designer Marya Javed, MARYA has created a niche for itself in the fashion retail market of Pakistan in just a short time span. Backed by the designer’s unique aesthetic for western cuts, the prêt-à-porter line offers trendy and comfortable party wear for women. After the launch of the label in the Summer of 2012, MARYA pieces have been creating quite a buzz, with the sharply tailored blazers & printed pants being quite popular at the recently concluded PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week.

With the Fall/Winter 2012 collection just around the corner , the Label is evolving to be an exciting new addition to the handful of good pret designers of Pakistan. Brilliantly shot by Deevees, the shoot marks the modeling debut of the super gorgeous Mariam Shah - and boy does she look promising ! Anyone else also thinking she belongs to a VOGUE cover? ;)

Styled by Marya herself & Your ‘s truly :) , here’s a sneak peak of what MARYA Fall/Winter Line has to offer . The collection consists of Sharply tailored Blazers, Printed Tapered Pants, Palazzos, Jumpsuits , knit tunics & blouses. The exhibition will be held at ‘Fashion Pakistan Lounge’ Lahore on Saturday 3rd Nov’2012 from 11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
