On Trend ! Sanam Chaudhri at the lawn previews

Karachi-based designer Sanam Chaudhri lent her support to both Khadijah Shah & Sania Maskatiya at their respective lawn previews last month. At both the events, she went for the trends-of-the-moment ; stripes & color-blocking , swapping the order of the separates the second time.

Don’t have full-lengths from the Sapphire lawn preview but between the two looks, it was the Elan one that got our fashion nods. Nicely put together look with so many trends in one. A pair of black slipper’s though would have been a much better substitute to those stompy Aldo wedges ( Buy here ). Which one do you like more?

On a side note, this might be the mood board for Sanam’s upcoming fashion week runway ( iff at all she shows). Remember this look of her’s too sometime back ? Very well, lots of stripes with neon accents it is then! ;)

In Jumpsuits – Fia & Zara Peerzada at Luscious Loves Fashion event

Wearing Jumpsuits from The Clothes Company & MUSE respectively, Fia Khan & Zara Peerzada attended the Luscious loves Fashion launch in Lahore recently. Fia decided to pair her autumnal floral print jumpsuit with a vintage necklace, tan belt & matching sandals. Zara glammed up hers with a twisted hairdo , tomato red lips & a black shrug.

Although we don’t strictly disapprove of either of the two looks, unfortunately something somewhere felt lacking. The jumpsuits themselves weren’t the best of picks to begin with. Fia make-up made her look washed out whereas Zara’s hair kept the focus off her pretty neckline. Wish she had gone for a bun instead.

Prefer one over the other? We can’t.

In Elan – Humaima Malik at the Samsung Galaxy Grand launch

As the newly appointed ambassador of the Samsung Galaxy series, Humaima Malik attended one of the Brand’s phone launches yesterday wearing a purple one-shouldered Elan dress. Waist up she looked nice – waist down was a different story altogether. The churidar under the dress stuck out like a sore thumb & the blingy footwear did no favor to her either. We would probably blame the designer for that – the dress itself was poorly designed & lacked the quintessential Elan aesthetics. Not something one expects the Design Team at Elan to churn out. Whats you verdict ? Disagree?

In Sana Safinaz – Safinaz Muneer at Kamal Lawn launch

There are very few people in the our fashion Industry who can wear just about anything & manage to look great every single time. Fewer still who wear their own creations with as much pride as lets say Cavalli. We spotted a very radiant Safinaz Muneer ( the powerhouse behind Sana Safinaz ) seated front row at the Kamal Lawn 2013 launch in Karachi. She was wearing a Sana Safinaz gold embellished short shirt with matching pants & peep-toes. Hair thrown on the shoulders & a lovely pair of pearl earrings added the essential va-va-voom to her look.

Trend Alert : You may recall both Sana & Safinaz wearing shorter lengths since quite sometime now. ( See here & here). Well, it’s finally here & you can thank Safinaz for being the fashion forward one.

Aamina Sheikh for Kamal Lawn by Zara Shahjahan promotions

As Brand ambassador of the Kamal Lawn 2013 collection , Aamina Sheikh has been busy lately attending the Karachi & Lahore leg of exhibitions. For the Kamal Lawn by Zara Shahjahan Exclusive Media preview in Dolmen Mall Karachi, she picked one of our personal favorites from the collection; a cobalt blue-burnt orange floral print outfit titled “Royal Nights”. Stacked gold bangles, a braided side-bun & a gorgeous pair o’ T-strap heels added added finishing details to the outfit. Envy that million dollar smile !

At the exhibition in Lahore, Aamina posed for the photogs in a pastel hued Kamal Lawn outfit. Though we didn’t liking the dress one bit, there’s no denying that Neck up she looked great . The cream clutch & the mismatched black pumps were a major deal breaker too.

For it was easy to pick a favorite between the two. What about you?

The powerful women behind Kamal Lawn 2013

It’s Women’s Day today & what better way to celebrate it on our pages than to feature the powerful & beautiful designer-entrepreneur duo behind the celebrated Kamal Lawn 2013. Both Erum Kamal (CEO & founder of So Kamal ) & Zara Shahjahan went for tailored looks at Kamal Lawn by Zara Shahjahan media preview in Karachi. Zara was wearing a ZARA (not herself – the UK one :P ) grey blazer with faux leather sleeves , with a black top & ZARA floral pants. Black Louboutins and an Alexander McQueen Bubble Stud Britannia Skull Box clutch made for the perfect accessories to go with the look. So Chic. Loved it head-to-toe !

Erum too went paired her tailored blazer with ankle high trousers & a nautical top. A Hermes Kelly on the arm, pink nails & sandals added feminine touches. A look worn well.

Zara Peerzada in Crescent Lawn by Faraz Manan

Wearing the outfit exactly (well almost) the way Karisma did in the campaign, Zara Peerzada attended the recently held Crescent lawn by Faraz Manan preview brunch at Veranda Bistro Lahore. Cream-colored peep-toes, side braid & the newly launched Luscious Loves Fashion nail color in ‘Fahad Hussayn’ completed her look. We think she looked lovely ! The length & fall of the dress fell perfectly on her. Moreover there was no pricey tote (signature to Lahoriites) staring us in the eye !
