Masaba Gupta – Wearing her own

This comes as a quick short post as I travel back home, but that just goes on to explain how excited I was to share it with you guys. Just a few minutes ago, Masaba Gupta tweeted a picture of herself wearing one of her own cow print saris that she’s wearing tonight to a friend’s engagement party . Think this is one of the prettiest ones by the her so far & she looks lovely.

P.S. It was not until I gave a recent interview that I realized Masaba is one of my favorites from across the border :)

Fashion Round-up : Kareena Kapoor for ‘Heroine’ promotions

While Kareena Kapoor is busy promoting her forthcoming film ‘Heroine’ these days, we keeping a keen eye on her outfit choices for each of her appearances. From fashion’s point of view the film looks quite promising, and so does the promotional tour – So far so good . Here’s a fashion round-up of Bebo’s promotional tour so far:-

1. In Dolce & Gabbana : The floral shift dress looked absolutely lovely on Kareena and compared to other appearances this was one of our personal favorites – very chic yet classy.

2. In Falguni & Shane Peacock & nude Loubs We certainly appreciate Kareena for opting for longer hemlines as of late & she wore the dress almost perfectly with a sleek ponytail & nude Christian Louboutin pumps. Although we re still unsure if it could have turned out better minus the the necklace. She was styled by Tanya Ghavri.

3. In Osman YousefzadaWearing one of the outfits from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection (buy here) , Bebo stepped out today for another promotional event . The necklace brought the an otherwise great look down & should have been omitted altogether. Loved the hairdo. She was styled by Tanya Ghavri again.

4. In Manish Malhotra Anarkali For the music launch at the Siddhivinayak temple, Kareena was spotted in a a lime yellow Anarkali dress by her long time friend & favorite designer, Manish Malhotra. The color works wonders on Kareena’s skin tone & we couldnt help but drool over her.

5. In Manish Malhotra (again) The Indian Idol appearance of Bebo saw her in the same colors & the same designer as at the music launch. Betwen the Anarkali & the Sari , its hard to pick a favorite but for us the Anarkali wins by just a little margin since the sari was a Manish Malhotra clich’e.

6. In Pernia Qureshi Wearing Pernia Qureshi from the Pernia’s PopUp Shop , Bebo looked fun & playful in the double collar pleated dress (buy here). As much as we loved the dress on her, the black pumps were a killjoy ; it would have been so much better had she opted for Tan pumps or peep-toes instead. Tanya Ghavri again.

In Satya Paul

After Frieha Altaf, (see here) , Resham also went the Black & white Satya Paul sari route at the recently held ‘So Kamal Lifestyle Store’ launch . Unlike Frieha who opted for a trendier version over a coral blouse, Resham wore a much simpler one & paired it over a sequined halter neck blouse. We re seeing Resham after quite sometime & this sure had us drooling – She looks fresh & elegant.

Sari Style – Lux Style Awards 2012

Of some the ladies who opted for saris at the Lux Style Awards were Sadia Imam , Bushra Ansari & Faiza Samee. While Sadia’s accessories made her overall appearance slightly overwhelming, the color & drape of the chantilly lace sari was a perfect choice for the night. She looked lovely.

Faiza Sami , the eastern couture Queen of Pakistan , wore a beautiful multi-textured embroidered sari to the awards. Elegance personified ! Enough said.

Its been a while we saw Bushra go for a traditional sari , something she used to wear regularly to one of her morning shows. And it called for a refreshing change to see her all pinned up elegantly in a crisp off-white & gold sari. Sweet, no? :)

Sabyasachi for the Cocktail Girls

From the movie itself to promotional events of the upcoming movie Cocktail, we spot alot of Sabyasachi on both the lead actresses- Deepika & Diana. For the very crazy (and our personal favorite) song ‘Second Hand Jawaani’ , Deepika wore a black & gold lehenga sari (buy from Pernia’s PopUpShop Here) , and looked absolutely sexy in it – watch the video below if you still have’nt .

At the Cocktail promotional event, Ms. Penty wore a Sabyasachi embellished vest over a partly lined black maxi. We love how Diana added a very modern & fun element to the otherwise traditional piece. She looked lovely.

Deepika wore another lehenga sari by Sabyasachi at the recently held Filmfare South Awards. A much more colorful lehenga with a uniquely embellised blouse – Deepika wore it well. However, we do think Deepi looked a little washed out & could have worked on the make-up to make this look 10/10.

Fashion Face-Off – Sri Devi & Kareena’s Manish Malhotra sari

There was something about the on-stage flash or the blouse of Sri Devi’s Manish Malhotra sari that made this look close to being tacky. We prefer the silver-sequin version of the same sari that Kareena wore at the Filmfare awards earlier this year. The drape should also have been spread out & not pinned up – not for this one. You agree or is it just our bias for Kareena speaking here ? :/

Sari Style – Neha Dhupia in Masaba

One to generally stick to western silhouettes , it is seldom that we spot Ms. Dhupia in a traditional number as this (and pull off the look equally well). Neha Dhupia changed it up this time by wearing a black & white Masaba Gupta sari for the launch of Maximum Music launch. And boy did it work wonders on her. Loved the cut-out back & gold detailing on the blouse & the oh-so-perfect earrings to go with the look.

By the way cut-out backs are the rage this season. Go for it if you think you got the sexy back.
P.S. We want that gold flower ring . Now !
