Wearing Kimono wrap shirts from Maheen’s pret line for Bonanza, Maheen & Frieha attended the collection’s launch event in Karachi. Compared to their runway versions these ladies fared the outfits wayyy better ( too much chaos with the hair & make-up on the runway) , however it was Maheen herself who stole the show. Very aptly put together look with cigerette pants, nude heels & a matching Bottega Veneta clutch. So Maheen !

Ladies, lets accept it ! We all suffer from a certain kind of OCD when it comes to picking the right shampoo. Standing before the drugstore shelf every month ain’t the best of feelings, especially when the wishlist is so elaborate ; it HAS to have a great smell, a fancy shmancy bottle, must come at a good price & above all , should be nice to the hair. So this morning while I was shampooing my hair with the newly launched Sunsilk Co creations shampoo by HSY, I realized what a great blend of all these factors the shampoo presents. Hardly any strands lost & my tresses feel & smell GREAT !!!

An initiative by PR Catalyst & Marketing, Four Sunsilk Fashion Edition Bottles were launched in collaboration with one designer each at the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week. Here’s you look at the launch pictures…Go On….Decide…Which one would you be picking for your hair type?

Elan – PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013

Elan’s Ode to a nightingale was one of the most stellar luxury pret collections to go down the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week runway. Backed by her very strong & unique aesthetic, Khadijah Shah created a series of Chinoserie-style outfits heavy on Chinese artistic influences & oriental prints. From Red Carpet favorites like kimono wrap dresses & maticulously crafted full skirts to the more relaxed evening-wear separates, Khadijah experimented with a range of silhouettes most designers would steer clear of. The best part ? The embellishment was limited to let the cuts & prints do most of the talking. Loved the bulbous gold detailing on Cybil’s shoulders & cuff accents. Loved it All !

One of most ooh-ed & aah-ed outfits of the collection on Mehreen Syed below. Paper magazine’s Editors Meher Tareen & Samina Khan walking the walk at the end of the show.

FnK Asia PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013

For their latest showing at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, design Label FnK Asia presented a very modern ethnic collection titled “East of Bengal”. Like Misha, Huma Adnan also reconstructed the Sari giving it an intense tribal & funky makeover with the use of scripted prints, bright palette, beaded embroidery & draping techniques.

Although it called for a refreshing change to see FnKAsia present a very Indo-Bengal collection at the PSFW runway, it was hard to ignore the close inspiration it drew from our favorite Indian designers, Masaba Gupta & Anamika Khanna. From the styling ( big orange bindis) to the silhouettes (pant sarees, printed dhoti shalwars , bright scripted sarees, tiered skirts) , the aesthetic seemed too…BORROWED ! (see image below)

For us, the bustier Tops with the tribal pants & printed skirts were a clear winner. Extremely Wearable !

Misha Lakhani PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013

Misha Lakhani’s collection “Configurations” at PSFW’2013 screamed “Laid Back Luxury Pret” , offering a variety of relaxed silhouettes to the modern day socialite. Her signature belted maxis ran throughout the collection, with embellished net dopattas draped onto dresses for a more formal, east-meets-west vibe (Trend Alert). Based in fabrics such as crushed silk, tie-&-dye chiffon, georgette, crepe, net and shamose satin, the color palette varied from citronelle green to olive ,ivory, cranberry red & black. The styling was kept minimal aiming for an effortless, boho-Chic look.

Although it was BIG on the wearability & fun factor, the collection seemed a mere ready-to-wear version of the designer’s debut collection at PFDC L’Oreal Bridal Week’2012 ; drop waists, digital prints, net dopattas, monochrome one-shouldered dresses – Misha stuck to her signature cuts & drapes. And we liked it for that ; after all, she’s just two collections old.
