2013 Fashion Trends: The Leopard Print Smoking Slipper

Slippers are the new ballet flat of the season, and one of the our favorite 2012-2013 fashion trends. They are incredibly comfy, easily to slip on – slip off, go equally well with casual & evening wear and a perfect answer to mannish trends with a feminine edge.

The leopard print smoking slipper, in particular, is a great statement shoe this winter . From Jimmy Choo, to Charlotte Olympia to Charles Philip to ALDO, almost ALL shoe brands have come out with their version of the leopard print slipper this season. We are particularly in love with the Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats & the studded ones by River Island.

Wear them with tailored or cropped trousers over a neutral oversized coat/cardigan and you re ready to rock the trend. But remember the GOLDEN RULE of wearing leopard print : DO NOT, IN ANY WAY, MATCH MUCH ! The slipper is enough leopard-ey to be matched with any other leopard print in the look.

Nabila donning some Trendy Accessories

A recent airing of Geo Shaan Say had Nabila put in an appearance looking uber stylish in a blue ombr’e blouse & creme wide legged pants. Compared to her previous appearance on the show (here), this was an absolute winner. Infact, one of the best outfit choices we have seen Nabila make recently. However what made the look stand out were trendy accessories ; a blue leather purse from YSL & Two-toned cobalt blue -aqua ZARA sandals perfectly complemented the separates.

Pop of Color

Chitrangada Singh & Anushka Manchada attended the HP launch event in New Delhi both donning monotone body hugging dresses (Chitrangada’s was a peplum but the fit made it body hugging :D) . While we loved Anushka’s Aqua by Aqua cut-out dress with the metallic belt, Chitrangada’s ZARA one had so much personality added to it by way of the pink fur Loubs.

Street Style New York

A lawyer by profession, but a true fashionista at heart, Basimah is every bit of your modern day working girl. A hint of 70′s was seen seen through her outfit that she wore while out on the streets of New York ; the high waist flare bottom went perfectly well with the fitted tee for an effortlessly polished look. Oh, and yes, white is big this season!

Zahra Ayub London Fashion Week Day 2

Ms. Ayub continued to get our fashion nods with her look for Day 2 of the ongoing London Fashion Week. While it was black & white for day 1, Day 2 saw her in flirty florals combined with sporty elements. Perfectly in line with the New York Fashion Week Spring 2012 Trend Report by Harper’s Bazaar :

“The New York Spring 2012 verdict is in. Sporty and sportswear are here to stay, but in a much more understated way thanks to sorbet colors and louche, low-key silhouettes. Don’t discard your floral fantasies just yet, this season the trend continues with a high-octane dose of flower power, plus an equally amped-up version of color blocking, or shall we say lessons in geometry” (from Harper’s Bazaar.)

Its raining Zara for Sameera Reddy

Looks like someone went crazy shopping at the Zara store recently. Of the three recent appearances of Sameera Reddy (brought to you by Zara :P ), which one do you think she looks best in? For us, the third one ,in white dress, wins by a clear margin. Dont think the skirt & blouse gel together in the second one. As for the first look, we re still undecided if the ‘inner-wear’ effect was intended or just a bad-flash blooper.

Too much Zara eh?

Looks like all B-Town actresses have moved on from fashion big-wigs to high street fashion labels. And we are all up for it it. Keep it going ladies !
At the recently held screening of ‘The Avengers’ , Neha Dhupia stepped out in wide legged white Zara pants and a loose orange Zara blouse. We totally adore the look !
